Fusion 8100, will it have pre-outs?

I've wondered whether or not the Fusion 8100 would have pre-outs? At least for the front three channels. It seems like if you provided that, lots of people would get it, with the option to add some bigger amps for the main channels, while the internal amps will be just dandy for the surrounds.

I was thinking the same thing. It would provide an upgrade path. I believe that the SR-120 had pre-outs. Wonder if that was successful.

I would think its like the pt7030 makeover to an emotiva ; same basic hardware as the sherbourn 8100 ie no preouts but maybe other software tweaks Notice the 8100 has resurfaced at sherbourn ; wont last long at that price

I think it comes down to real estate on the back panel; its a slim receiver and doesn't have unlimited space. I love how my 8100 sounds....I'd love it even better if it had pre-amp outs for an upgrade down the road to my front stage.

That's why I was thinking the compromise of only have LRC pre outputs. Save some space, and give people the most important pre outs.

I'd think reversing the 7.1 input to an output would be better. How many people are running an Oppo or something where the outboard processor *might* be better quality? Even then, I'd think the equalization capability of the 8100 would _____ any processing differences. The Oppo doesn't have a mic and setup mode to do time alignment and EQ.

At Emofest, the Fusion was in a rack, so I didn't see the back. And, I was so taken by surprise that they had a receiver that I didn't think to ask if it would have pre-outs. Maybe someone else asked and if not, maybe someone could call Emotiva to ask. I can't recall the guys names who were doing the demo, but I bet they know...for those who were there...was that Chad and Damien?

In the demo I was in, someone asked, and the answer was No - it doesn't have pre-outs. I think it does for Zone-2, or something, but definitely not for all 7 chanenls.

I don't recall who answered the question, It was the 11a demo, I think.

or keep it simple and swap the space for pre-outs. how many people will use pre-outs vs. an outboard processor?

I didn't pay much attention when someone asked the question, but I believe the answer was NO. I'm guessing the Fusion is just a re-badged SR8100 anyway and will have identical connectivity.

I am peachy keen with the Fusion! Emotiva needs a great receiver! Here it is! Pre outs would be nice, but you got the UMC-200 as a pre pro right?

Yeah you can always move up to the UMC-200, was just thinking it would be nice to give someone with an 8100 an upgrade path other than buy a UMC-200.

Pre-outs would be nice even if L/R only like on Marantz slim receivers. +1 on switching pre outs to inputs!
