I first fell in love with the soundtrack for this film on the Mondo vinyl release I purchased and now have added this film to my top 10 Sci-fi list as I'm a total Sci-fi movie lover and this one totally rocked it for me, like I mentioned how great that M83 soundtrack is and IMO is even greater when heard while watching the film, as a music lover I love it when a film has an amazing soundtrack to go along with it, 3 movies(That I've seen) in the past few years Drive, Tron Legacy and now Oblivion have totally won me over due in part to the wonderful soundtracks they have. This movie for me is...WOW..... I want to watch it over and over but like I said I'm a total Sci-fi movie geek and don't get over critical when watching a film as it is my getaway from the everyday and I assume it won't be the same for all but just wanted to share my experience with this film with my fellow lounge mates. I only hope you can share in my experience with this film..... Later all, Chad

I'll admit I was disappointed in this movies when I saw it at the theater. I waited for it to come out on Redbox before I gave it another shot. I was mislead by a friend who said it was non stop action and this put my expectations out of whack. After renting it and popping it into the bluray player in my theater room with a proper sound system, I was immediately struck by the soundtrack, it did draw me into the film. Tron was the same way, I bought the soundtrack immediately after watching that film. After adjusting my expectations and giving it a second go around Ive come to the conclusion that this is quite a good movie and I plan on owning it when the price comes down a bit. It is not action packed but does have a proper amount of action for the film that it is. Agree with OP, if you havent seen it give it a go!

Loved this movie as well! Didn't understand all the negative reviews out there. Outstanding sound and visuals. I rented it from Redbox Friday night and I'll be owning this one as part of the collection!

Visuals and sound are great but what I like less is always the good guy role Tom Cruise plays and of course the "happy" ending...

I liked it a lot as well. I had a chance to see/hear the movie at a Dolby Atmos theater, and it was an amazing experience.

I'm going to have to watch this now since I heard so-so reviews about it. I too bought the soundtrack on the Mondo release and it is awesome. I wanted to watch it just for the soundtrack alone but I think I'll have to rent it tonight!

I rented it from a local Redbox on Blu-ray format and made a 30gig MKV file for the Oppo103 but am totally going to pick up a Blu-ray to own.

I thought it was a pretty solid Sci-Fi film! I saw it in the theater but really can't wait to hear it on my system at home.

I did not feel it was a great sci fi movie. I felt it was a good movie, but I figured out most of the surprises before they were revealed. That said, I felt the video and audio presentation are a new benchmark. I felt the soundtrack reminded me of Daft Punk. Once I realized it was directed by the same director as Tron Legacy that made sense. It was definitely a visual and sonic feast.
