Hi my name is André Sévigny better known as MrAcoustat on all audio forums, i am 68 years old and have been an audiophile for more than 40 years with Acoustat electrostatic speakers since 1984, it's not that i don't like boxes BUT only that i prefer full range panels, here is a description of my Keep It Simple system - - - Chord CPM-2600 integrated amplifier - - - Chord One cd player - - - Acoustat 1+1 speakers ( 1984 ) - - - living in a condo my speakers are the smallest of the double stacked model of Acoustats. Thanks for looking PS: You can see the making of these DIY Acoustat steel frame 1+1s in my Flickr photo galery - - - www.flickr.com/photos/mracoustat/![MrAcoustat Keep It Simple System](http://cdn-2.dastatic.com/forums/gallery/data/500/medium/600x450xKeep_It_Simple_1600_X_1200.JPG.pagespeed.ic.VtKC6IXuMp.jpg)

Welcome to the lounge André,
Nice setup, I just see your right speaker is near the wood stove, isn't it too much dry?
Salut voisin.

Hi frenchyfranky, i rotate the speakers every year and 95% of the heat goes to the floor the right speaker is 3 and a half feet from the fireplace and the little bit of heat generated is good for the mylar, so the answer is NO the room is NOT dry.

Hi. I noticed eggleston speakers in elrocco's system. Did you get to see them? What did you think? Yes elrocco is a friend of mine, he does have a very high end system over 150k and it does sound very good BUT again dollar for dollar for ME panels will ALWAYS be superior to a box, these DIY Acoustat Spectra 8800 again for MY tastes sounded better than Wilson's Alexandria's for 10 times less money. ![](http://cdn-2.dastatic.com/forums/gallery/data/500/medium/450x600xAcoustat_Spectra_8800_05.jpg.pagespeed.ic.kyahRgPdUz.jpg)
