I have a velodyne sms1. I can have 6 presets. I have one set to flat....my questions is if I make a setting with a curve for showing off what frequencys need to be boosted.......every since I got the sms1 when partying to rap or whatever it seems weak. What frequencys need boosted to get the boom back?

It seems like the boom bass is around 40-60hz

Isn't it more like 80-100Hz for boom (vs real bass notes)? It isn't like radios can easily even do 60Hz let alone 40Hz.

You got rid of the boom? Congratulations, this is what you want for a flat sound. However if you like it and want it back, "boom" is generally the octave from 60Hz to 120Hz, so a +6d or so boost here will make it boom again.

I think 80-120 but then wouldn't the easiest way be to just use the flat setting and then boost various ranges to see which one nearly ruins the foundation of your house?

I got it now...... I use preset one and EQ 1 for flat response I then use preset 6 which bypasses the sms1 with boost on the above said frequencys. Now I have the best of both worlds. Thanks guys
