I received my XPA-5 Gen 2 yesterday and set it up with my Marantz SR6006 AVR as a pre-amp with Emotiva rca connectors powering Klipsch reference 7.2 HT system. Works great, really improved my soundstage but it will not come out of standby when my Marantz triggers it to on. The Marantz trigger works since I measured 11.92VDC on the Emotive mini cable. Pushing the standby button is not a big deal but I would like it to work as designed for once. Seems like most of the supposedly better electronics that I buy I have to play with to get it to work as advertised. I would spend more money but than I would be really upset :-(. Has anyone else had this problem?

This may seem really dumb, but the top connector is the output and the bottom is the input. Seems backwards to me. I would make sure you have it wired to the Input and not the output.

I also got the xpa-5 a few weeks ago and had the same problem. It would never turn on with the trigger. After much frustration I changed out the emotiva cable with one from radio shack. Done, worked. So It seemed I just had a bad cable. If you have another cable, give it a try

Nothing is dumb to me and you make an excellent suggestion which made me go back and check which one I was in since I am working behind my cabinet is a small space. But I checked and I did have it in the bottom. Much appreciated.

Another excellent suggestion and I went back and did a continuity check with an ohm meter and it checked out as good. It was the new cable that came with the unit but it was a possibility so I checked. Thank you.

Does the SR6006 trigger need configuration perhaps? Or it could be only for Zone 2? There are some receivers out there, which behave this way.
