I scored these at a yard sale on Saturday. They came with a Radio Shag subwoofer & plastic surrounds and a nice center speaker for $20 the lot. I was skeptical that anything in the lot would be worth keeping, but on a whim, I threw the DCMs up on stands, hooked them up to the Crown amps, and cut loose. WHOA - These image better than anything I've had in a few years. They're better than the Paradigm Studio 20s, better than the DefTech SM-65s, better than the Spendor LS3/5a, and better than the self-powered speakers (which were no slouch at imaging, themselves). The speakers need a sub. I've got them paired with the B&W ASW-675 and the combo is a match made in heaven. Imaging, bass, treble, depth, width, EVERYTHING! Even in their (substandard) positions, they absolutely floor me with what they do in my room. Are they perfect? No. There is a slight peak somewhere in the treble that emphasizes some sibilant sounds. It's a very narrow peak, though, and I think that speaker positioning can ameliorate it some. Also, these won't do head-banging volumes. They're rated 92 dB at one watt and their -3dB in the bass is about 45 Hz. (per manufacturer's specs) using a transmission line (?)! Smirk at the design if you want - I'm telling you it works! DCM made some junk after their original "Time Window" series, but this model isn't junk, for sure. Should you ever see a pair, scoop them up! Boomzilla

Sounds like a good catch. I bet you would trade them for the LSi9's in a nano-second. When are you planning on flipping them?
It looks like there are several pairs on ebay for under $100 bucks.

They sell for so little on eBay that they aren't worth flipping. I'll sell the DefTechs and keep these.

I think that these image so well because they're almost a "point source." Since these work so well in my room, I'm thinking that the KEF LS50s would be even better? Sigh... Choices, choices.

DCM made some highly regarded systems back in the day. I owned a pair of Time Windows back in the mid-80's, but didn't really like the BOSE 901 style omnidirectional sound enough to keep them.
