Now that I am accumulating records, what does everyone use for storage? I just can't see stacking a bunch of milk crates together.

Go to Hobby Lobby and look in the baskets section. Lots of options. You can then put the baskets on some sort of shelf.

2nd the Expedit shelves from Ikea. Not only did they look great at my house, they unlike the rest of my system made the cut when I moved in with my gf. About $50 for 4 sections. They went together in about 20 mins per unit. The only thing you may want to add is some sort of stop on each section so the albums don't slide back too far. I purchased one 8 section unit and two four section units. I too had been in crates and boxes forever, and it is probably the best move I made aside from going all Emo except for my TT. Russ PS forgive the cord mess in the photos, just wanted to give you an idea of the size. Speakers are JSE infinite slopes so they are very large. Attachments:

Expedit is the way to go. Cheap and they work well.

Vinylfreak, I can hear your floor joists groaning from here! All kidding aside to LMR and others, there is a little consideration in older houses of the weight when going vertical with album storage. Also, consider anchoring to the wall especially if you sense any top heaviness to the unit you choose. It reminds me of the old AV carts with the big tube tvs on them in school. That funny stick figure kid about to be crushed by a tv somehow was very symbolic

I use the Expedits also. I don't have a ton of records so I also have some of the drawer kits, and I keep my CDs in those. Pretty happy with the whole setup.

I store all of mine here, amazing how many it can hold and how easy they are to find and play.

Ikea Traby used to be ideal as it came in 1 2 4 and maybe more IIRC compartments and it was solid too and floor / wall mountable but now sadly discontinued. I have 3 but need more so now will probably go the Expedit route I guess, unless I can find some other affordable hard solid wood variant ...probably possible but not affordable. something like this maybe

You might check your local Craigslist, Ikea furniture is on there quite a bit, at least near me.
If you're willing to assemble yourself, something like what you pictured might not be that hard to build...

with some diy handiwork, a circular saw, cordless drill/ skrewdriver and paint to your liking you can build awesome custom shelf's for next to nothing as a weekend project m8!

Cleaned out a closet and really like this design - easy to browse albums. I will add a CD rack/storage beside it. Perfect fit. I will raise it off the floor so I don't have to get on my knees. Getting old sucks
