Hi all,
Just a quick question for the experts here. I am using a mini-x and xda-2 with a set of mlores. If I added a sub with high pass x overs would there be a negative affect on the sq of the mlores?

I would say it depends on the sub.

Hi all, Just a quick question for the experts here. I am using a mini-x and xda-2 with a set of mlores. If I added a sub with high pass x overs would there be a negative affect on the sq of the mlores? Do you mean doing a high pass on the speakers? To filter low frequencies from the speakers? Or using the low pass filter that most subs have? And feed full range to the speakers? Some subs have better crossovers than others - but most are pretty decent.

I think he is talking a b out sending a full range speaker level signal to the sub which will then high pass to drive speakers and convert the lows to line level to drive the subs amp.

Like they mentioned - depends on the subwoofer. However it's not what I would do.

Sent from my HTC6500LVW using proboards I haven't seen a sub that has a high pass out. Interesting. Of course my current subs have no xover of any kind.... Which is something I like - so you don't need to defeat it. If it does sound bad, an XSP doesn't meddle with the sound quality because it has a good analog xover I have an XDA feeding mine currently.

A high pass for subwoofers is usually called a subsonic filter. Is that what you mean?
