It's quite possible the Gen2 XPA-1 is ready to be released. Or it could just mean the Gen1 models are sold out thanks to the crazy good price.

Oh no, I didn't quite have the money in hand. Now I'm ready to pull the trigger and they are gone, you snoose you loose. Maybe they will still get some in? I don't need 60 watts A but maybe a nice introduction on gen2, that's if they are close to release. I'm working on my new speak build and they are going to need some Monos. Was considering some Odyssey Stratos Monos but thought the XPA-1 would do it. I hate when you make up your mind and it doesn't work out.

Nick, thanks for the tip.
I'm up North and usually ship to the border for free and drive an hour to pick them up, it's a big savings. Unfortunately unless someone parting with a pair are close, it can add up. Maybe not all is lost and the gen2 will be close in price. I'll stop wining now.

Will do, I'm sure they will be consistent with the gen1's and other then the suggested 60wats of A maybe some further refinements to the AB sound.
When I go to monos from the current XPA-2 for the new towers I have to rack my components to make room for a planned IB sub build on the front wall so I'm not sure I'll use the A mode much. I'm trying to do both theater and 2 channel in the same room. My new XPS-1 is standing at the ready to bypass for 2 channel it just wants something new other then the XPA-2 to play with. The closer I get to my ideal the more impatient I get.

The new speaks are 4ohm nominal maybe 86 eff, they are based on a Avalon Indra cab 40L sealed with 2 Wavecor 8 3/4" subs, Accuton 5" mid and Scan Speak 6640 beryllium tweets per tower so they will enjoy some power. The XPA-2 will handle them but I'm looking for some more refinement. I'm sure the XPR-1's would be more then enough as you have probably experienced.
Some thoughts on resents amp search. There are now some interesting bang for buck web offerings starting to come out but just not there yet for example, 1. like class D Ncore kits, reported good sound but not user friendly no power switch or triggers. Good for just 2 channel. 2. Odyssey AB monos nice build but again don't fit into theater/ 2 channel setups well.
Emo is still a little ahead of the curve. I think they have the power, connectivity and bang for buck covered so maybe now they should just keep toppling the perceived refinement differences. When you invest in great speaks and a well treated room the next thing is your gear. The XPS-1 will not limit any setup form my experience. I just think a vary good 500 watt mono is the sweat spot for must setups. Wonder if they could kill a class D with connectivity?
Nick, sorry for the ramble what were you thinking?
