Doesn't really require comments, let's just see the numbers?

This thread should not be in Stupid question zone but instead in accessories, because it is everything exepted stupid.
There is a need for these parts and if Emotiva closes their eyes to this need, they say no to sales and customers, IMO it's a no sense.

If you have feedback about Emotiva selling the parts, why don't you give to them directly instead of publicly airing your complaints constantly? Heck, it's not hard to email Dan directly. The squeaky wheel gets the grease apparently.. I applaud the poll, because it shows the interest without all the "comments". Numbers help illustrate customer interest. First excuse my English, I don't understand how you see me, I never try to bash or to start negative wave, I always try to be constructive as possible in a way to force encourage a Company (Emotiva) for serving their customers the better they can do. I apologize if the sense of my limited English language make me misunderstood by others and give a negative sense of the constructive comments as I try to tell. Sincerely, Francois P.S. I have been always a supporting fans of Emotiva products and services.

Let the free market decide how a Company's doing. Novel concept, these days I know.........

Actually, I'd prefer silver FACEPLATES. I'm so tired of black...

Your English is better than my French will ever be!

I firmly believe that they should offer both "Gen 1" silver trim and "Gen 2" black trim and let the owners of the "classic" Emo gear decide which "look" suits them best. It's not by chance (well... it kind of is) that 90% of my component rack is occupied by Emotiva gear. All of which sports the classic silver trim. Personally, I LOVE the look and intend to keep it that way if at all possible. If the powers to be decide that they will NOT offer the classic silver trim, then PLEASE at least offer the black Gen 2 trim in the full range of sizes. I don't particularly care for the "black abyss", but I would like my Emo gear to aesthetically match.....

down to my personal taste - always black. end of the day, if it is the right piece of hardware making the difference - i do not care if it is pink like Barbie's (nightmare)dreamhouse! decent design is nice (and should always be considered), but end of the day it is the (improved) sound that matters. if it really bothers you, get artistic, spraypaint does not cost that much

^^^...... Point taken, but the "design" of the trim pieces themselves are quite different. It's not just a matter of silver or black.....

Good news; Here is the answer from Lonnie in the thread "Emotiva Trim Problem Gen 1 vs Gen 2" Ummm.........Just to let everyone know. We have silver trim pieces coming in. So if that is what is holding you back, don't stress on it. They will be here very soon. Lonnie

For me, I just don't see the point of all this. Emotiva has changed its outward appearance in the past, from wide blockish silver trim, to what we have now. Not only did they not offer "retro" trims so that your gear would match their older gear, but apparently have increased business. I get it that some wives have their husbands by the coin purse and others who don't suffer from that affliction suffer from other conditions that they're too stubborn to get treated. I say just wait maybe six months to a year and replace all your previous, fully functioning and in great shape Gen-1 Emotiva gear with brand new, and matching, Gen-2 Emotiva gear! Present that bill to your wife and you'll see that she can stomach slightly mis-matched gear. Or, see your doctor and tell him that you're about to spend thousands of dollars because your little aluminum trim pieces don't match and ask if he has anything to help with that. I bet he does... and for a lot less than the cost of replacing your trim pieces. The best advice that was ever given to me was, "don't sweat the small stuff". I'm not any more likable, but I'm a lot happier because of it.

Although I've more or less given up on ever getting black 1RU trim for my XDA-1, I sure would like some because the XDA-1 sticks out like a sore thumb in my HT equipment rack where every other piece of equipment has a black faceplate. I'll live with it, but this isn't something really hard that those of us that want it are asking. It's not a firmware etc. change and all Emotiva needs to do is place an order. I've had mismatched equipment racks my entire life and I'm sure I will again, but for me esthetics are important, if within my control. I'd be more than happy to see just 1RU-4RU Gen-2 trim happen so older equipment can be brought up to date.

^Have you thought of just taking the trim off the XDA-1 altogether? My gear is mismatched as well. There are times that I look at it and think of either rearranging it so that it alternates silver/black, or taking off the trim making it all black. But, so far, it hasn't bothered me to the point of going much beyond musings. 20 years ago, however, it would have drove me nuts!

Pretty obvious the way I voted, most of my gear is Gen 1, so I would like Gen 1 silver trims to be available to buy for Gen 2 gear. As I mentioned in the other thread, I can see a good marketing reason for not making Gen 2 trim available for Gen 1 products. Logically I could see no reason for not making Gen 1 trim available for Gen 2 products and it would seem that Emotiva agree. I do not mind paying for Gen 1 silver trims, I will simply keep the Gen 2 black trims for when/if I ever have a full set of Gen 2 products. My query was not whether Gen 1 silver trims would fit, my interest was in being able to purchase them separately and/or order them with the product.
BTW I confirmed my order for the ERC-3 on Friday morning, Emotiva should have the funds by Monday/Tuesday.
Cheers Gary

I dislike this girly-man obsession with trim! Emotiva, establish an 'mo' and stick with it. I admire the First Watt approach to building everything in the exact same enclosure. It's what's inside that counts.
