Nice. I love my Rythmik 12". But I got it way back when Brian didn't offer turn key subs.

The casters were the wrong size. New ones on order - coming tomorrow. Sorry for the delay... I need to get them in place correctly before I can do much. I've been using my time wisely. I just finished adding trigger lines to the XLR cables: Trigger lines on XLR cables? ...can you please explain, I'm intrigued Are you pulsing a 12v trigger signal into the input to activate an auto-power on?

No, I think he is simply bundling the cables together with zip ties.

I just used ties to keep the clutter down. Trigger chain is: XSP-1 -> XDA-2 -> XPA-1L -> XPA-1L -> DIY Trigger Box Expander -> (Fans & Subs) I wanted to avoid the XPA-1Ls and the subs coming on together.

My casters arrived last night at 8:00PM via UPS. Kinda late in the day. I got the stacks in place this morning, but gotta break for Turkey Day. Not to blow my own horn, but it's an impressive tower of power!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice Chuck. Those subs are "end game" subs IMO. Congrats man, and enjoy! Please post a review once you have had time to put them through their paces.

Kinda followed your example, Chuck. Just pulled the trigger on a pair of subs to use as speaker stands for my DIY MTMs. Went with the Dayton Reference HF 12" 4-ohm woofers, though. John Krutke (Zaph Audio) praised them for their low distortion. They'll be mated with Bash 300W plate amps in Dayton 2ft^2 cabs (sealed), basically per Zaph's design.

First thing was to check the main speaker roll-off with REW. Looks like 60Hz is a good point. Now to dial in the XSP-1 high pass to 60Hz and re-measure.

Ok, next up was to set the XSP-1 high-pass to 60Hz. Boy is that pot touchy. Measurement was taken into the UCA222 and not the UMIK-1 microphone. Note that I'm using heavy smoothing and the dB level doesn't matter. I just wanted to adjust 60HZ to -3dB. I now remeasured the mains with the UMIK-1 and seem to achieved what I wanted. Purple - XSP-1 hi pass Red - Original mains sweep Blue - Combined (Looks pretty close to 24dB slope) Again, note that I'm using heavy smoothing and the dB level doesn't matter. I just want to see slope and relative dB values within one trace. I'm no wiz with REW, but I'm getting better.

I haven't seen Zaph's design but I hope it has a separate chamber for the plate amp, a couple of Bash's I've used rattled noticeably. Cheers Gary

I like the un-enclosed amps because they do not appreciably reduce the internal volume of the box. SVS uses un-enclosed amps in their subs. Zaph's design is here: zaphaudio.com/archives.htmlScroll down the page. The link is to a ZIP file for the design. Zaph used a 500W amp, but I think that's overkill. I don't plan to rattle the house with those subs. They'll be for music only.

I am wondering for reference purposes where on the hp pot location (position) you dialed in your 60Hz crossover setting?
