Got a new Gen2 and just hooked it up with MIT interconnects and wire. Everything is correct. Checked it 5 times.
If i turn off the TV or switch inputs or switch inputs on the receiver or change different surround modes the amp goes directly into stand by and channels 4/5 light up red.
I pulled ch 4/5 and left them disconnected. Tried again. Same issues.
Amp mon works fine until you switch inputs etc as listed above. Wtf is going wrong? Please help.

So when you first turn it on everything works then when you do one of those things you mentioned the problem occurs?
Did you try disconnecting the inputs to the amp or the speaker connections or both? Is there a trigger wire connected?

No triggers. I disconnected both the inputs and speaker connects on channels 4/5. And yes. When everything is first turned on no issues. Once i change an input or try to adjust lets Neo to Dolby it kills the amp. Or if i change TV input from lets say PS4 to TV. It kills it.

It sounds like the amplifier is picking up DC as a switching transient, causing the amplifier to go into protection. If you were to try different interconnects other than the MIT's does the amplifier do the same thing? Also leave the Speaker cables disconnected, and just the input cables connected. Does the amplifier go into protection?
Also if you connect what would be channel 1 and 2 RCA outputs from the Receiver into channel 4 and 5 into the amplifier, does the symptom still occur on channels 4 and 5 of the amplifier?

Also for another test, use Zone 2 preamplifier output of your receiver and connect to channels 4 and 5 of the XPA-5. Does the XPA-5 still go into protection as you switch sources while running zone 2?

The front right unbalanced input is no good. Tried multiple cables. All cause same issue. Take cable out of RCA jack and it works as it is supposed except missing the primary channel.

xpa3/5 balanced input is just an rca with balanced driver in the input options so balanced doesnt buy you much quality wise. it could still be the bal output of the pre and not the XPA too.

It's not a question of quality since the channel doesn't work properly.

More test now show that it may be my aging pre/pro. I never used the pre outs on it till now. And the RF pre-out may be the culprit.
