I want to start venturing into the world of headphones and would like some recommendations. I spend lengthy periods on remote oilfield locations and will be using my phone and iPad as my music source using my MOG account. I'm not looking to spend a small fortune, maybe $200-$300 tops on a decent pair. Thoughts???

I would say do yourself a favor and check out V-Moda headphones. They offer superb sound and are built to MIL spec standards. They will last you a long time. The Crossfade LP2 which I own are without doubt the best I've owned. I wouldn't think you need to spend more than your budget. Check them out at v-moda.com/headphones/.

You may want to explore a portable head phone amp. saves battery life and adds clean power to drive the phones

The Crossfade M-80 is outstanding as well. Agreed. I listened to several headphones this year at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, I thought the V-Moda's were very good. Especially for their price level. Also the fit and finish seemed exceptional.

I picked up the V-Moda LP cross fade for $69.99 on amazon today. These are the gold deal of the day and for that price I couldn't pass them up. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Please post a review once you have had time to fully test them. I have always been attracted to the look of V-Moda headphones. Not sure why, but I simply LOVE their styling. Then again, I also think Beats look cool. LOL!

I was going to post about the Amazon deal today but you're on it! I own these and love them....paid $100 or so. $70 is a steal....far nicer than that amount lets on. The cable, the case....all top notch. - Sometimes the terseness of my reply can't be blamed on my phone.
