That price is a steal for sure. I bought a cherry VTA180 less than a month ago and had BC replace the KT88 tubes with the KT150s plus add a custom modification (via a selectable switch) to allow for the low impedance of my Electrostatic speakers (Martin Logan - Spires). They dip down to 0.7 ohms at 20KHz...
BTW...BC is not involved in the website stuff at all. He was just as suprised as anyone else here and knows nothing about it.

I loved the sound of those at Emofest. I shared the room with a wonderful guy in a wheelchair that owned about a bazillion RR cds. Nice sound man! The cds impressed me so much I got one of my own and it is a keeper as well.

When he puts them back out on his own site I wonder how much they will be. After them being at the lower price it may be hard to go back to the original MSRP.
That is a steal on the 305's!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me, but audiophiles "read way too much into everything" ?!? Surely you jest!!! Perhaps the site was hosted on a server that was using a (GASP!) OEM power cord and the hard drives had not been properly cryo treated. That would explain it. Surely, one would expect a tube amp company website te be hosted on a server that only uses solid state drives?

I'm not sure it's a "steal". But, Damn I'd love to have a pair of those. But alas, I'll either stay happy with my Jolidas or be blown away by an upcoming Emotiva tube offering. Either way I good with it...

Hi guys, The Bob Carver site is down for good, and will not be coming back. The hosting company turned it on by mistake... we asked them to do some back end work and they turned it on without realizing it. When we found out, we asked them to immediately pull it back down.
Nothing more than that.. had you actually tried to make a purchase, it would not have been completed.
BTW, we own the trade names for the current models and the VTAC company itself, not Bob Carver, contrary to the advice given to another poster. However, Bob Carver does own his name.
We are working on new models under the Emotiva Glass name and they will be exceptional values and offer the same or better build quality. We'll have more advice in the near future.
Thanks for your interest. Cheers, Big Dan

Excellent news, although I was sort of looking forward to some massive transformer-tube-solid-state-hybrid super amp concoction that Mad Bob and Lonnie dreamed up together for your team to build. FYI, Jolida is also using the "Glass" moniker...

Bob gets to keep his name. That IS great news! Yeah, knowing who he is it would be really weird to hear him called Fred.

FYI, Jolida is also using the "Glass" moniker... Interesting, they're using as part of a product line, "Glass FX Series" www.jolida.com/product/glassfx
