I noticed on thanksgiving day that the originally defunct Bobcarver.com site is up and running. I did a 'mock buy' of the VTA305M amp and it took me all the way to the PayPal site.
Does anyone know what's going on? Is Emotiva planning to sell of their Bob Carver inventory?

Interesting, this has kinda been strange saga. I thought the sale had gone sour and bob retained all his stuff! But The site still shows "a emotiva company". I hope they were able to work out their differences and try it again. I love my cherry 180's!

I'm wondering if the page just hasn't been updated yet. Strange that the website would be back up with old content though. Would be nice if things had worked out...

Wow, the checkout even brings you to Emotiva too? Odd.

Luckily I am very close to opening my 1º BIG BUSINESS and unfortunately i will have to wait ... - But I hope and desire they reach a consensus for the good of all audiophiles in the world!

Emotiva had acquired Bob Carver Tube Amp Company. They probably have every right to operate the website and sell/produce the products they acquired.
So either it is a simple internet glitch or they are selling these products that as far as we know they acquired. Bob Carver has at least a couple companies that he sold off and removed himself from. This wouldn't be the first.

Another member had talked directly to Bob Carver and was told that he still owned the rights to the 305,180,and the 20. Maybe he is Licensing them to emotiva to build.

They were being built on a assembly line at Emotiva headquarters as of September of this year. However, since that time, things may have changed.

I believe they are gearing up for a massive Christmas sell-off... I wish EMO staff would chime in and give us the official skinny on this new development...

That update was after the site went offline. Now the site is back online exactly as it was before the site went offline and the announcement. I would think if the announcement was taken at face value - the shopping cart would not be still be via emotiva.

You guys read way too much into everything. Take Big Dan's announcement at face value, and then assume the Bob Carver site got put back on line full of errors. Simple.

I've never seen a site get put back online weeks later "full of errors" as you said. Websites are the front door to a business these days and I don't assume that a web page is wrong. It would be like seeing a new Black Friday ad for Bob Carver and Emotiva and then having to decide if it's real or not. But the site is back offline, so clearly the announcement stands.

It's really very logical. The Emotiva staff was in th process of reworking the Bob Carver web site to integrate it with Emotiva. The deal fell through. They turned the site back over to Carver, who turned it back on (and since they are not a web-based company) without realizing the extent of integration work that Emotiva had already done to it. A few days later they realized it was not correct and took it down. Simple. It happens. It's not a conspiracy!

OEM power cord and the hard drives had not been properly cryo treated. That would explain it.

When I see something that's unexpected on a website, I don't just "assume people screwed up". It's not logical to assume that unexpected information is always incorrect.
