The buzz is back and now in all speakers. So it was not the sms1!!!!!!! Ugh. I run two behringer ep4000 amps for my subs and have done the fan mod to lower the fan noise. But I now have a buzz in both subs from both amps that is coming from the fan. How do I know? The faster the fan speeds up the lo9uder the fan. It also goes away in either sub if I turn off that amp. Nothing has changed. I have a dedicated 20 amp line. It does this with nothing but the amp hooked to the subs. I can also lower or raise the buzz by raising or lowering the gain on the amp which is now half way because the buzzs is driving me nuts. I heard ART that makes a cleanbox also makes something to remove this buzz but wondering if that's for ground hum which this is not. This is directly related to the fan. I can remove the fans and get no buzz but then how would I cool my amps? ? Please help me everyone

Use factory replacement fans, not cheap internet Chinese ones. Behringer should be able to supply some.
Or, plan B, use a "laptop cooling" pad with its own fans under the amps & let the pad fans keep the amps cool.

I even found others that had the same issue when running it with certain pro amps. usually behringer amps..... It is dead quiet running to self powered subs like I had before. Never the less. Its been removed. Its not faulty, its just how it reacts in some peoples systems with pro audio. No need for it anyways. I hate flat response and have made 3 separate manual eqs in my processor. music, tv and movies. Im good to go. Now to sell it

Pardon my ignorance - What is the "SMS-1?"

Ah... Why should an equalizer cause noise when fans are changed in the amps?

Ah... Why should an equalizer cause noise when fans are changed in the amps? your guess is good as mine. Its all over the net and everyone with the issue had behringer amps it works great with my old subs that are self powered. some things just don't play nice together

Some fans use brush motors, and some of those create high frequency noise - which they can send back down the power lines - or even broadcast (slightly) into the air. Presumably that particular equalizer is especially sensitive to one or the other of those types of noise. The best answer would be to use better fans. Another possible solution would be to add ferrite beads onto the power leads of the fans, as close to the fan itself as possible. (You get those little donut shaped ferrites, and run both wires through the center, then loop them around the outside and again through the center - next to the first pass going through - then reattach them to the connector.) Ok so after getting that cleared up... two days later I now have buzzing from all speakers and it's coming from the cable box and or TV..... the cable box names it buzz slightly then once the TV is on it gets louder. WTF. I have changed no wiring in months. So once the buzz and slight hiss start after both cable and TV is on if I shut the TV off it goes away for few seconds then comes back but not as loud..... I have tried cheater plugs. The only thing that works is to unplug my TV. It's a six year old plasma could it be going bad it something in it causing it. I forgot to mention it also will buzz somewhat when viewing my computer in the TV. NO BUZZ at all watching movies though. The cable just grounded correctly outside and everything is on its own 20 and circuit. My last thing to try is I'll lift the ground completely in the breaker box..... the buzzing is driving me mad to the point I don't want any of my system if it's going to buzz. Any ideas? New TV possibly?

How about using an extension cable and plugging the tv in on a separate outlet?

I tried running the coax thru the Belkin and it made no difference. Something has changed in my house or TV or cable box. Not sure what else to try. Cheater plug makes no difference. Not sure but I think when watching TV on my projector I get no buzz. Like check after work. Is so then it has to be my TV
