Hello there... I just dumped my Onkyo and decided to go with separates. I have a umc-200 and a Rotel 1077 amp. I'm having difficulty with triggering the Rotel. I'm using the provided cable that was in the original packaging of the 200.. I have the Rotel trigger switch to the "on" position, the power button is off., and the cable is in the "trigger in" spot. I have the cord on the 200 in the "out" spot for trigger 1 and the unit is set to the "main" selection in the trigger 1 menu. The Rotel will not kick on with this setup? Am I doing something incorrectly?? Is it the wrong cord? if so, any help would be appreciated. Oh yeah, btw, my new separates set up makes my old Onkyo sound like, we'll, an Onkyo

From Rotel:
With the switch in the 12V TRIG. position, the amplifier is turned on automatically when a 12 volt trigger signal is applied to the 3.5mm Jack labeled IN. The front panel POWER SWITCH overrides this function. It must be ON for the +12V trigger to work. Turning the switch OFF cuts power to the amplifier, regardless of whether or not a trigger signal is present

Since the push button type power button is set to on, the amp's blue power light is always on I guess? When I power the 200 on and off, the "protection" light on the amp flashes once like it did before the trigger was set. Does that make sense?? Thanks again.

From the Rotel manual: With the switch in the OFF position, the amplifier is turned on or off manually using the front panel power switch. • With the switch in the 12V TRIG. position, the amplifier is turned on automatically when a 12 volt trigger signal is applied to the 3.5mm Jack labeled IN. The front panel POWER SWITCH overrides this function. It must be ON for the +12V trigger to work. Turning the switch OFF cuts power to the amplifier, regardless of whether or not a trigger signal is present. That switch is labeled #5 in the picture in the users manual. In plain ole words turn the front push button to the OFF position and the trigger on/off to the on position. It should work. If it doesn't use a multi-meter and measure the trigger cable for 12v with the UMC-200 on. FWIW I had a trigger problem with my UMC-200 - got it repaired and it works fine. I have sold it and use a Yamaha AVR now. It works!
