Just received my ERC-3, I have it hooked up to Yamaha RS700 cd "in with rca connections. To bypass all the Yamaha internal electronics, can I connect it to the main in coupler, as the coupler out is connected to a xpr-2. Or is there another way so that the receiver is only being used as a volume control, thanks in advance.

Then set your Yamaha's DSP to its "direct" mode or whatever Yamaha chooses to call it. If no direct mode is present than stereo is likely your best bet. Do not connect your CD player to your amp directly!

OK Direct mode it is, that's what I've been doing just didn't know if there was any other way. Thanks!

Andrew, OP is bypassing internal amps \. Im pretty sure. Ive done this with a RX-1050 and if he just plugs into CD he should be fine.
