Hi All, Last Saturday, I had the pleasure to be able to listen to an XPA-2 and XPA-5 on the front channels of my setup (onkyo 808 + Tannoy S10's). Sort of unexpected, the improvement was quite large. The Tannoys are reasonably sensitive, so I didn't expect a lot of improvement with adding more power, but I turned out to be very wrong . Conclusion of this day, was that the XPA-2 sounded the best, slightly more control, definition and impact in the lower regions. Both amps were Gen 1, so now for the big question.....How does the Gen 2 XPA-5, compare itself to the Gen 1 XPA-2? Does it come closer than the Gen 1 XPA-5 or is it still another league? I ask this, because after hearing the result on the fronts, I assume the center channel (Tannoy D750) will also benefit greatly from the extra power. And on the other hand, after hearing, what the XPA-2 did for my sound, has the preference for stereo. Buying both, is budget-wise, not an option . Thnx for the advice. Ralph
