Last night I installed a new pair of Blue Jeans balanced interconnects from my XSP-1 to the Gen 2 XPA-1 mono blocs and the noise level increased on the left channel only, especially once I flipped the switch to Class A. Initially I had a ground loop hum/hiss when the amps came in a week or so ago but was able to eliminate this with different cables and a few other tricks. Naturally I figured if I installed a pair of balanced IC's with the inherent higher SNR then the background noise would be quieter still, but it went in the wrong direction. Doesn't make sense to me, anyone ever run into this situation before?
FWIW I was very careful to route the new IC's as close as possible to the way the RCA versions were making sure not to parallel power chords etc. I couldn't tell much if any difference in the right channel oddly enough, only the left. Audio can sure be weird some time.
Thanks in advance
