Members,
I've seen over the past few days that many of you have had difficulty uploading photos to this forum. The issue has been addressed and photos can once again be uploaded to the forum. That being said I wish to ask that everyone not abuse the photo uploading feature on this forum. I'm not saying don't share your photos -please do- but please, pretty please, re-size them and/or shoot them with Internet distribution in mind. This means pixel sizes of around 800 x 800 or smaller, or set your smartphone's picture settings to lowest quality/small. Use JPG "medium" compression etc.
The reason for this is simple, we're, on average, uploading over 2GB of images per month! I know that may not sound like a lot, but it truly is, and it bogs down the servers etc. If you can, please link to photos contained elsewhere on the Internet as that takes up zero space nor does it count against our monthly allowance for image bandwidth. I don't want to be a drag, but we're running out of ways to keep photo attachments a part of this forum as there is only so much bandwidth we can purchase on a monthly basis to facilitate everyone's desire to share. We love seeing your pics -especially of your Emotiva gear -but please try and abide by a few of the guidelines outlined above.
To better ensure that uploading images sticks around for everyone to enjoy, we've put a few hard limits on images, specifically an 8MB file size cap and a 5 attachment limit per post (it was 10MB, 10 attachments).
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support of Emotiva and this forum.
Happy New Year! Andrew
