I was thinking of ordering one of the XPA-2 gen 2 amps for mainly music use. I would be driving it with an Adcom GFP 565 Preamp 2 channel and these Polk Audio speakers of course, I won't be cranking things hard but, here is the speakers www.crutchfield.com/S-JHX0s6abq2u/p_107MON70B/Polk-Audio-Monitor-70-Black.html and I also, have a 15" sub with 500 watt amp to handle the low heavy bass. Thanks for all opinions on use for music only.

Hi allred509,
The XPA-2 can drive these speakers easily: their sensitivity is 90db and the power range of the speakers is up to 275 watt at 8 ohm. The XPA-2 can do 300 watt at 8 ohm. I use the XPA-2 (Gen 1) to drive speakers with a sensitivity of 86db and I get the lights on the XPA-2 hardly jumping ;-)
Your preamp can deliver plenty of volts, no issue here to drive the XPA-2.
How do you have the sub connected? I don't see a subwoofer output on the Adcom. If you run the sub in parallel to the normal speakers then the lowest go also to the Polks. If you really want to offload the amplifier and the Polks you should use an active crossover or use a preamp with a special subwoofer output, for example the Emotiva USP-1 and XSP-1 both have separate subwoofer outputs.

The Adcom preamp has two sets of outputs and I'm feeding the sub from the second set/ line level input so the only thing the Emotiva will have to drive is the Polk speakers at full frequency range. Thanks for the info!
