I just picked up a pair of 1.6 speakers, pretty beat up and buzzing a at the top of one speaker. All links to Diy delamination help appreciated.

You-Tube has videos on the repair and like stated before Magnepan do sell the kits to do the repair and Magnepan will do it for you at a cost and you have to ship it back to them.

I just finished repairing my 27 year old MG3a's. It really is not too hard after you remove the socks.
The key is to not use the glue that Magnepan recommends. Do not use Super 77. Use Weldwood Dap to glue the wires down (after cleaning off the old glue). Once all the wires are down I then painted a coating of Milloxane on top of the repair work. I feel the combo is the strongest.
I do not think Magnepan mails Milloxane during the winter though.
Just ask if you have any questions.

That's exactly the kind of feedback I need. And by the way I am super jealous. I have been eyeing a pair of MG3a's to try and pick up and repair if needed. I would love to have a real full range set if Maggie's. Perhaps one day.

Cardiffkook , I've read that somewhere about Dap weldwood. My mgIIb were repaired by magnepan in the 90's by original owner and still sound good. I know they will require work in the future that I will do myself so I check the net occasionally to see what others are trying.

Mot sure where you are and excuse the intrusion if that as I am new to the Emo-Lounge forum but I saw you had mentioned a yearning for mg3a's at a great price needing small repairs. I have a pair of MG3A's that are both in need of a small repair(internal tweeter crossover) and wanting another(adhesive membrane to affix seperated wires as y'all were mentioning) but also has both 2 BRAND NEW tweeters and Magnepan gray "sox" just installed(look even better than black IMHO. If I didn't get such a great price on a second pair, and believe me I thought about moving the brand new Magnepan tweeters to my new set although ultimately left well enough alone, I would have repaired them myself. They have the natural finish on the wood side panels, fully functional outboard Magnepan crossovers and of course the oem stands. I am located in Los Angeles and do not have the oem box although if we made a deal I am sure I could fashion secure packing and ship them safely if need be. Let me know what you think if you are still in the market for a pair of these amazing planar/ribbon classics as no other used speakers can sound like these under $2k!
