"Smart TVs" and the new preamp/processors allow for the cable STB to be switched from either the TV or pre/processor. A video explaining the possibilities, along with the pros and cons of each would be helpful to those just getting started with home theater.

Most people don't want all those wires going to their sleek wall mounted flat screen TV - The beginners in HT even more so. Stick to prepro/av receiver control of switching with one single easily hidden HDMI going to the TV. Emotiva would be nuts to even try to answer all the problems ARC/CEC causes due to incompatible and non standard implementation of these features with infinite brands and components. The HDMI.org site should have to answer all questions concerning use and interfacing of brands and components since they licence all manufacturers.

One of the goals of Emotiva should be to keep people coming back to their website as a source of information. Sending them searching the Internet for answers sends a bad message to potential customers. Videos are like software, build once and use many times. This reduces the cost of tech support, and helps keep product cost lower. Every video pays for itself many times over in terms of reduced costs, and brand loyalty.

You're kidding me!

I'm sure Andrew will make a video explaining ARC and CEC in simple terms, but there is no way a video will ever be able to answer all the compatibility issues that will arise due to different implementations that manufactures will and are employing in their A/V products. Hell, just basic (sic) HDMI has been a nightmare.
