I have a digital RCA cable from my Ipod dock to a DAC. it cuts out every few minute but for just a second. How would I check if the cable has a break in it?

I would just try another cable and see if you have the same issue.

Is your ipod dock a Wadia 170i by any chance?

Im guessing the Wadia has this issue?
Its a purei20
Im gonna swap cable today.its just that the one thats giving me problems not a cheqp one

Yes, the Wadia 170i has a crap RCA connector that can move and cause the connector/cable to contact the chassis. This was resolved with the 171i.
Try another cable, hopefully that's your problem.
