Has anybody with the first batch of ERC-3's experienced occasional distortion or break-up of sound? I've noticed a few times that something just doesn't sound right for a second... Most recent example was this morning playing Norah Jones Covers CD Track 10 at 1:40, 2:33 and 3:00... Not repeated playing the same section in the Oppo. All Analog connections..
I've heard it before but didn't stop whatever I was doing to track and note/document the problem or just thinking it's a CD issue...
Interested to find out if anybody is experiencing anything usual...
And yes - I have the same button issue as others have noted - occasionally press and it doesn't open tray..

If it's repeatable (i.e. happens every time, at the exact same spot on the disc) then it's the disc. If it's variable then it may be an issue with the player.

Mine has been very clean on a variety of pop, folk, jazz and classical.
No issues, but if it is repeatable only on that player then a call to Emotiva is obviously in order.

Nothing on my player. Sounds incredible. The tray is a bit quieter now. I'm guessing it's just got some good use now.

Thanks hi, have you tried playing other discs? this once happened on a different brand player i once owned & a mate had the same disc as my faulty one & when i played in the same brand player no break up occured whatsoever. try it & see how you go. if it continues as advised by some of the members give emotiva a call & they will look after you. i have over 200+ hrs on my erc-3 with no probs. absolutely a fantastic cd player, rediscovering my cd collection. yes i agree with yours & other erc-3 owners regarding the tray eject button as mentioned by gary cook just give it a manly press & it works every time with mine. good luck & hope your cd issue is resolved quickly, chris  |

I've only had 1 track on one CD not play perfectly, and it had a rather greasy fingerprint on it. Good clean and it played perfectly.

I've only had 1 track on one CD not play perfectly, and it had a rather greasy fingerprint on it. Good clean and it played perfectly. Cheers Gary i forgot to mention about disc cleaning, thanks gary. been enjoying too much sun this wend lol! chris |

Thanks all.. Replaying the same CD and had no issues... Doesn't seem like a common issue so I will just keep an ear out for it and see how often it repeats. Otherwise a great player...
