My response from MOG: Hello, Thank You for corresponding with us and for your subscription to Beats Music. Yes, Beats Music will continue to stream 320 kbps for all musical content and no Beats Music will not be in any other partnerships. Thank You -DE Beats Music Support Team Beats Music Listener Suppor Good to hear of confirmation on the 320kbps but how can they state they'll not be in any other partnerships? Surely they'll enter into an alliance with the next partner just as soon as they deem viable? It's a business after all...

I've been a dedicated MOG subscriber for a few years primarily because of the audio quality and because I consider the service and apps to be more album centric than other services. I spent some time trying Beats today and was impressed by the approach of curated music but it's definitely not as focused on album listening in my opinion. The MOG iPad app's simplicity is just about perfect so I'm going to miss the service a great deal. Rather bummed. Based on Robinson's recommendation, I began a trial of Google Music's All Access and enabled high quality. The iPhone app is good and seems to work well on the iPad scaled to 1x view. AirPlay worked and I'm interested to learn the true bit rate. I predict Google will be my post-MOG solution. I like the album approach too and that is how I listen at home. In the car I do the radio play on the artist. I am glad we have a few months to figure it out.

After playing on beats for a couple of hours tonight I have to say that the transition from MOG will not be to hard. Some initial impressions after going back and fourth between the two is that I could not tell any difference in sound quality in the 320 streams. The user interface on MOG is easier to use than beats. With beats it can be difficult to navigate and I find myself having to back up a lot. I guess they are still working out some of the quirks and familiarity will come with some practice.

Agree, I'm not eager to move from MOG's high resolution, and it looks like Beats keeps that .......

Confirmed 320kbps rate as well as Airplay support for Beats.
Listening right now on my ipad, streamed at 44.1 to an Airport Express via Airplay, connected to my DC1 via Toslink.
Sounds terrific, and actually a nice interface.......
I'm staying put!

I just successfully logged into the Beats web player (previous attempts resulted in an error message) and the interface is not bad. It recommended some new jazz that I hadn't heard. There are a few minor bugs but as long as the streaming quality remains high and they can figure out how to transfer my MOG playlists I might stay with them.

I like the ipad app much better than the desktop. The app is easier to navigate.

What browser were you using to log into the web player? I've tried on my Mac Mini and all I get are links to the IPhone and Google apps. No web player in sight.

I posted earlier in this thread but had to chime in again. 80% of my listening is orchestral and, after trying Google Music and Spotify Premium, I can confidently say MOG has the largest or most accessible orchestral/symphony catalog out there.
I'm dreading the end!!!

As a long time MOG subscriber I was bummed when I heard about its demise. I love its album-centric interface and extensive jazz collection. I subscribed to Beats and Spotify for about a month and didn't really like either one. I recently tried Rdio and was immediately hooked. Their web player is easy to use and only 4.99/mo if you don't want to stream from a portable device. Its hard to pin down their streaming specs but it sounds good to my ears. Give Rdio a try.

I think Rdio's layout is good. Streaming at 192kbps. Not good.

I'll be doing some careful Rdio listening over the next several weeks to see if my ears can detect the apparently lower streaming quality. I REALLY miss MOG!

You will be able to detect it. Once I subscribed to MOG it was almost impossible to go back to listening to Pandora (also 192kbps). I only listen to Pandora now when I am running power tools in the house, lol

I have been doing beats for a month now and it has all the same music as MOG. To me the MOG site sounds better than the beats site even though both are 320. The user interface on beats sucks, they should have just updated mog's site and used it.
