This subject was extensively discussed several months ago at which time it was concluded that some people's did and some didn't (my XPA amps never did). I believe it was Lonnie (may have been another staff person - perhaps Keith) who explained that due to thermal expansion the heat sinks may click. As to whose did and whose didn't, some did and some didn't. If yours clicks, then you are one of the people whose heat sinks clicks, and if you don't hear anything, most likely yours do not click. Your right! It was mostly happening with the XPR-1 mono blocks of which I own two. The bangs were loud enough to startle you, because they were always loud and random. There is a fix if anybody is interested.

My x's (a 2 and a 5) never have. And my ncores would never dare...they don't have heat sinks, unless you count the aluminum plate the circuit is mounted on that never gets beyond warm.

Mine clicked and I sent both in to emotiva thinking there was a issue. Come to find out it was as simple as loosening a screw just a little and voila the clicking was gone and I haven't heard a click since. I think maybe the heatsink screws was a bit too tight causing that issue. Call emotiva support they can tell you exactly what to do to have that issue resolved. My xpa-1's are now dead silent.
