So I bought a DC-1 to use a preamp. It will be driving two XPA-1Ls. IF anyone else is is using the DC-1 as a preamp, what are you using to trigger the amps on?
Thanks, Scott

Thanks, Scott When I did it, I just turned the amps on manually. I don't know if there's a better way, or some kind of 12v trigger box/hub that can be added on for that purpose, but it would be interesting to know what solutions everyone came up with. Good question 3PO, I will be watching this thread for answers myself. By the way, welcome to the lounge!

I use the front panel power switch on my XPA-1s.
No biggie.

Circumstances permitting my amp is powered up 24/7 along with the DC-1.

I don't think there is any other way cause the DC-1 has no trigger in/out. In fact that is the only frustration I have with the unit compared to my XDA-2. I just have to power on manually my two XPA-1Ls (although these two are connected by their trigger in/out).

I have a power strip under my desk that has a 12V trigger. Used that to turn on my powered speakers with the XDA-2.
With the DC-1, I just use my big toe to flip the switch.

i have a power conditioner with delay sequenced turn on and off for the outlets. the conditioner part is just a min. safety with the power grid conditions here in jamaica. but generally i leave 'all' my components permanently on, as long as we don't have big storms or sh*t going on here. so NAS->on, audio pc->on, dc-1->on, active speakers->on... hope that helps

I love the auto on feature. The Ips-1 has this too. And it's was per channel.

One thing that may help is that if you run a trigger cable between the two amps then you can switch them both on/off from the front of the primary amp. Not where you're wanting to get to, but it can make life a little easier.

Could an ET-3 used as a remote trigger?

I wish I had seen this thread before I bought my DC-1. I was initially thinking the ET-3 would work, but then I saw it's designed to act like a "trigger hub" where it receives a trigger input and splits it off to additional devices.
The Smart Strip that someone linked above has some potential, although Emotiva recommends you plug their amps directly to the wall.

I'm also running the DC1 into 2 XPA-1Ls, driving a pair of GoldenEar Triton 7's. Very sweet office setup.
I happened to have an unused ET-3 lying around. I'm using it as a remote trigger. There's a push button switch on the back that ends up working as a switch. Super lazy on my part. I keep the ET-3 on my desk next to the DC1. I could of course, just bend down and hit the switch on the front of one of the XPA1L's, of course.
Dear Emotiva, Gen 2 product feature request - add a trigger out. Otherwise its fantastic.

I own a DC_1 as well and tried to use it with a TrickleStar Advanced Powerstrip to turn my tube amp on with the DC-1 when it powers on. The strip even has adjustable switch positions to trigger slave outlets via the master outlet, but for whatever reason the DC-1 does not fit into the right bandwidth. It draws too much current at the lowest sensitivity setting, thereby keeping the slave outlet all the time, but doesn;t draw enough current at the medium setting. Too bad. YRMV with this or some other similar unit.
