Hi guys First post here so nice to meet you all I am about to pick up an XSP-1 & XDA-2 but I really can't live with the way these products look — so many conflicting typefaces + styles that I feel like I need to cover it all up some how. I saw the thread on here a while back with the gold trim. That's a little more than I'm willing to do right now, so I wondered what your thoughts would be on something like this (that I mocked up in Photoshop last night): Effectively this could be done with any type of wood, but I'd like to try mine in an american cherry.. Just some food for thought.. Thanks

I'd maybe go, instead, for the old McIntosh walnut pan-loc cabinet look:

Looks good, but don't forget to make holes for the remote sensors. ( maybe I'm being captain obvious here, apologies if so).

Where are the remote sensors? I assumed they are in the LED displays? Thanks for the comments

I like the wood look. How would you attach the faceplate?

I like the wood look. How would you attach the faceplate? Mark Thanks mark- I'd imagine that if you remove the original trim you could maybe use double sided adhesive tape or something similar to attach the faceplate. Can anyone confirm where the IR sensor is? I assume it's in the display on both products?

IR sensor on the XDA-2 is near the standby button to the left of the display. Remember, depending on how thick you make your trim, you'll cut down the angle sensitivity of the sensor. In other words; the thicker you make the trim, the more dead center you'll have to aim the remote for the unit to pick up.

Don't know about XSP-1, but XDA remote sensor is the circle to the left of the display.
