I have that combo in my system. ERC-3. CDPLAYER, XPA-2power amp, with Audible Illusions Modulus 3A pre amp. Sound amazing.

Your excitement WON'T result in disappointment either! You're going to LOVE that amp.

I agree. A very fast amplifier with lots of power was my impression when I tried it. That unit also sings with a nice pre-amp and it looks like you have one.

I've been upgrading piece by piece for the last 6 months. My 50th birthday present to myself. The Adcom pre-amp is nice, I think I'll be keeping that for the foreseeable future. Until it dies anyway. It has the passive switch, which I only use.

The feeling of a new piece of Emotiva gear finding it's way to your door is unbelievable. I am jealous!

First impressions. After waiting for it to come up to room temperature and carefully getting it into place, trying not to destroy my back. The thing is a beast! Not surprising since the remote for the ERC-3 weighs more than most CD players. I connected it using my Nordost Heimdalls that are XLR to the Pre and RCA to the amp, my old amp not having balanced inputs, I Wanted to do a direct swap at first to hear the difference. Unfortunately my first listen coincided with an annoying sinus cold which effects hearing, but not much. After about an hour or so warm up I fired it up. WOW. The music seemed to jump out of the speakers, great soundstage, fine detail across the entire range from highs to low, and I mean LOW. Even on my modest B&W 603’s. I had to make sure no one snuck a Sub in while I was away. The whole soundstage seems more forward, which I didn’t particularly like at first. I never thought the old Adcom was laidback until now. I started thinking I needed to move the speakers back. Fast forward to the next day. After keeping the Amp on overnight, and on since Monday. I swapped out the Heimdall RCA’s with my 10 year old Transparent XLR’s and fired up again. I can honestly say for the first time in a long, long time my speakers literally disappeared into the room. Also knowing that it’s going to get better with more time makes me a happy boy!
