Can anyone tell me if you sacrifice sound quality using the BTM1?

When it's working and playing the quality is fine but I've discovered it can get quiet choppy for what appears to be no reason. I've tried with both iPhone 5 and ipad air and same thing. Sometimes it plays fine...other times it stutters as if a device is struggling to keep up. That could be the iOS device but I use them both with other players and have never experienced this problem so I assume it's the emotiva pre/pro or the BTM1.
I've never called support regarding it (meant to post a forum topic bout it...maybe I can partially hijack your thread and someone will share my experience...or tell me theirs works flawlessly.

Is anyone using the BTM-1 to stream from their laptop?

I ordered a Harmony Bluetooth Adapter and it is pairing with the UMC-200 just fine and the sound quality is good. I ordered a new USB cable and will toggle the Cable through the XDA-2 and Bluetooth direct to UMC using my laptop with MOG or Beats Music and share later on.

There are two Bluetooth rates .
The "standard" is 320kbps, where the aptx standard can transmit 16/44, as I understand it.

There are two Bluetooth rates . The "standard" is 320kbps, where the a2dp standard nan transmit 16/44, as I understand it. I tried the Bluetooth on my 2.5 year old Galaxy Nexus and it did not sound very good going through the UMC but the Bluetooth on Laptop to UMC sounds substantially better. So the cable versus bluetooth will probably be unnoticeable and that will be great. I love not having the cable as the whole house trips on it from time to time.

I got my Belkin USB cable in today. I thought I could toggle between XDA and UMC Bluetooth but I have to kill bluetooth on the laptop so it is not an immediate switch. That said there is a definite sound difference between the two where the cable produces a much cleaner sound. Now I do not know if it is the XDA that is better than the UMC or cable versus Bluetooth adapter. I still like the BTM-1 for the convenience it offers for casual listening but for critical listening it would not be my choice.

Anybody know if the BT adaptor will work with a Cambridge Audio DACMagic+? The CA dongle is 2x the price of the EMO piece which I consider a rip. I think some of the quality problems of other users may be related to NOT supporting APT-x.

I just installed a UPA700 with the UMC200. I put the BTM-1 and everything paired nicely with my iphone 5s. The issue is that over approx 12 feet the audio cuts in and out. Has anyone else seen this and have a solution?

Has anyone else seen this and have a solution? Well, I took the iPhone 5s out of the spigen slim armor s case and my range increased to approx 30 feet.

price reduction, at least a little, makes the BTM-1 an inexpensive test for my CA DACMagic+ Bluetooth Dongle needs. I'm gonna DO IT and report back.

I bought a BTM-1 but ended up not keeping the UMC-200 and never used the BTM-1. I believe my BTM-1 was on sale but don't remember the price (I'll see if I can find the invoice ..... maybe one year old). If anyone is interested I'll sent it to you in the US,48 with shipping paid for $29.00 (slightly higher to other planets) and have the warranty transferred to the buyer. (I'll post this in the Emporium when I get a chance ..... Nut-Club Price, $28.99).

Chuckie, PM me and maybe we can work something out. I need to find out, first, if it'll work with my Cambridge Audio DACMagic+, which has a BT Dongle input. Cambridge gets 100$ for the dongle! incredible.
