Hello guys,
Couldnt find a better place to ask this question :-) . I am glad this section is available on the board.
I was going trough the manual of the SR-8100 again. And i noticed something i cannot really think of what should or could be connected to this output :
Mix Output Provides a stereo unbalanced analog output that is the stereo mixdown of the surround sound source currently playing in the main zone. The Mix Output is variable, and is controlled by the Main Zone Volume setting.
Might as well ask this for the zone 2 and zone 3 function. Are these somewhat the same ?
Or should it say input? Because u can connect a external player for instance and play the sound from that to the 2 speaker terminals that arent used with 5.1 ?
No idea what should be connected to those things.
Further in the manual i read this :
If the SR-8100 is configured as a 5.1 channel receiver, the two rear surround channels (Surround Back Left and Surround Back Right) may instead be configured to power a stereo pair of speakers in Zone 2. (Pop the button OUT to select this configuration.)
So i dont get it, it aint speaker terminals so ?

I've used the Mix output on the UMC-1 on occasion to send a stereo output from my HT system to my 2C system. I can adjust the volume on both systems together as desired. This wasn't something I used often but sometimes for a party, or for a movie where I wanted to pull out all the stops.

So this is just a signal for a AUX (or similiar) input on another device ? So this signal is all the sounds from 5.0 to 2.0 or is it just the sound comming from the surround speakers? Like in the text or is it all the channels made into 2 channels?
Shame its not just the signal from the front speakers so that a extra amp/mono amp for the fronts would be possible.
Thanks for the reply!
