Since I'm fairly new to Emo, I don't know what their typical sale cycle is. Missed out on the last holiday sale....

There was another post in here a few minutes ago and now it's gone. Where did it go?
I was going to sort of concur, that sales will still happen I think. Once you are a "sale" place, it's hard to avoid. People expect it. It sets precedence that is hard to get out of. Even if sales are for old buyers only, or at Emofest, or what ever, they are almost inevitable.
Only time will tell for sure, but if this were a poll thread asking options, I'd be voting "they'll happen again" column. JMO.

Bonzo, I think the post was pointing towards the degree of uncalled for.
I do believe that Dan could be talking about no more "planned sales". I get where he is coming from with that. People wait and wait to purchase on sale and then something comes up and Emotiva never gets the money.
I wouldn't be surprised, or say that Dan didn't stick by his convictions, if there were some irregular sales thrown in throughout the year. However, the whole thing with irregular sales is this. "I'm so angry, I purchased an XPA-5 2 months ago and now it is $100 off"
As a consumer I am all about the sales. I purchased every piece of my Emo gear on holiday sale. We shall see.

With the 5 year transferable warranty Emo used gear is a great way to save some money. I think most people here treat their equipment well and there are many successful transactions in the Emporium. If you don't see what you want try posting a WTB thread.
There will probably still be warehouse sales, but with fewer regular sales the value of used equipment should also increase.

Bonzo, I think the post was pointing towards the degree of uncalled for. Maybe I guess, but I didn't see it like that. I understand why they are trying to remove the sales. It's this angry thing as you say, and the fact that Emotiva doesn't make as much profit on each unit. To those angry people, I say, "Sorry folks, but that's the way it goes. That's life. Maybe you should have done a little more research to know that Emotiva has sales and you should have waited." But that's just me and I'm sure I'll get flamed for saying it. Oh well. Me too.

I'm sure their will be a sale at Emofest; but just not online like this year (first time that I recall for that sale). I'm also sure their will be a end of the year holiday sale. I also think, because we've already seen one this year, their will be "warehouse" sales where you can buy B-stock items for 10% to 20% off the regular cost of new.
I agree with others that if you're going to run continual sales (Presidents Day, Spring, Easter, Summer, 4th of July, Emofest, Fall, Thanksgiving, Holiday) then just set your price at the sale price and quit with all the sales.

Emotiva has grown enormously since its inception, what, about 10 years ago? As their market share continues to grow, they will have the opportunity to continue to raise their prices. They are getting more and more demand for their products, so why wouldn't they raise their prices? Basic Marketing, which also might mean no sales, or fewer sales. The days of the good ol' Mom N Pop type operation are probably on the way of being a thing of the past. So that is a great thing for the company, and probably not the best thing in the mind of customers who have been buying their products for a few years, or since the inception of the company. It's like the old guys at my golf club, they "remember when" this and that about how the club used to be, and how it's gone downhill, and how much more expensive it is now. It's also like some of the bands I like to go see. We used to see them in small theaters, cheap tickets. Now they've hit it big, guess what, playing much larger venues, ticket prices are much higher. Demand for their product required that they change their business model.
Bottom line, we are still getting a great deal on Emo products, and who knows how long it will last. Enjoy it while it lasts

Hopefully Emotiva will still be doing their Road Shows. They were offering some good discounts at the Chicago one I went to last year.

Enjoy it while it lasts good points colby. that being said, dan has made it clear that their pricing structure is a basic formula which avoids gouging customers just because one product is in more demand than another. we may not see those ridiculously low prices on product we saw 4-5 years ago, but the overall price and value will still exceed anything the rest of the high end market has to offer. i agree with your last line but i think we can enjoy it while it lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts. tchaik.................

Unless I am mistaken the DC-1 stayed at the sale price after the sale. So you will not do better and you were only saving about $20 on the XPS-1. I say go for it. You can get them now no waiting!

I read the "no more sales" post but with new components coming out now would be the perfect time for a sale. How about "Buy a new processor/receiver/preamp and have the chance to order amps (on the same order) at the same prices as the recent holiday sale!" Just an idea...

Well, "B-stock" clearance sales probably won't go away. That gear needs to go somewhere since it can't be sold as "new." Just sayin'..
