I was just wondering if anybody knew if Emotiva was planning on another release along the lines of the UMC-200 that supported HDMI 2.0? Or, perhaps does 1.4a allow 2.0 pass-through (provided I had a true 4k source/tv).

I thought this was a terrific question? Unless no one wants to talk about a used Kleenex, and that is the terminology that we have been told they use around Emotiva to describe exactly what HDMI 2.0 represents. I do expect to buy the new Pre-amp XMC-1 to sit next to the XPR-5 I have sitting in my home. So, if I spend 2 grand next month, or the month after, do I need to throw a few hundred out 4-6 weeks later to upgrade my tissue/ Kleenex brand New Pre-amp from 1.4b to 2.0 ? Wonder if the XMC-1 is being placed on the drawing board for Rev 1 HDM1 2.0 now?
I can now see why they use the terminology Kleenex. Do we need to upgrade our Kleenex every 6 months or you end up with a PUFF. Maybe just a new out of the box piece of high end audio equipment with the need for a 2.0 boogie wiper.
Emotiva is so correct to call it Kleenex technology. The new pre-amp hasn't been placed in a shipping box, and it needs a revision.

Emotiva has said there will be a unit priced between the UMC-200 and the XMC built off the XMC platform. No word on what features it would have, but I would bet that the latest HDMI would be included.
If the X is indeed as modular to design as the board layout is, it could arrive quickly after the XMC-1.
