I just received two XPA-100s last friday. When I first hooked them up I thought something was wrong. Im using a Cambridge Audio 751R receiver as a preamp since I only use it for 2 ch. Anyway when I hooked up my amps and turned on some tunes, I was frightenly dissapointed. My awesome Marcato speakers were popping and hissing before I shut it down. I was really worried until I remembered that I had the receiver's speaker trim settings set to "8" out of 10. I did this because the 751 just didnt have the power to drive my speakers very loud. With the amps in place, I was sending way to much power to my speakers. I ended up settting the trim down to "-2". Then the amps became amazing. They added a lot more mid range and clarity to the music. They even seem like they are getting better with time. I listened to high volume rock music for 3 hours and they were just barely warm. I am very happy with this purchase. Im thinking about selling the CA 751 receiver and buying a Emo stereo pre amp. Mike D.

The XPA-100 is one of Emotiva's amps that tends to get overlooked in the face of the XPA-1L, XPA-1 and XPR-1 juggernauts. In their own right they are a fantastic monoblock, well worthy of consideration. I'm currently using one as a subwoofer amp and it continues to amaze me everyday at how it handles that duty, with power and fineness. I'm sure you will enjoy your XPA-100's even more and for a long time to come.
Cheers Gary

I would have liked to have bought two XPA 1Ls for bragging rights but in reality, I didnt need the extras that they offer. I only wanted 2 clean high power amps. It looks like thats exactly what I got with the "100s".

Hi there mikeD,
Welcome to the Lounge, and welcome to the XPA-100 club. I've been enjoying mine for a couple of months now they really are nice amps. So far the loudest I've had the nerve to play mine is with the volume set at about 9:00. That's enough to fill my space with wonderful music. Enjoy!

(formally mikeD) Yea these things look really good too although I wanted them trimmed in black but I have to purchase the panels separately. Anyway does anyone have any experience with the USP-1 pre amp? I noticed that they are not available now. It looks like a good match to my 100s.
