Hello all....
New guy to the forum, but not to Emotiva.
I have recently swapped out my UPA-2 for my new XPA-2 Gen 2 amplifier and I have a question about the power supply. Do these amps have, as part of the automatic voltage detection/selection circuit, any form of line conditioning? I thought I have read here or somewhere that it was best to plug the amp directly into the wall outlet........
Any ideas regarding this??
Thanks
Steve

They have power protection circuits that shut the amp down in case the power goes out of specifications. There is no NEED for power conditioning unless you have audible/obvious power problems. Plugging the amp directly into the wall is safe and is what I would do.

Sorry. I actually posted as a guest before I realized I was not logged in. So that is me asking the question....

However, the question remains what exactly is the nature of power conditioning in the power supply input stages if any?
