Did anyone compare the two generations, a summary of findings will be very useful.
The forum around here has become very inactive, are there any concerns with the new generation of XPA amps?

You're right, but I don't think that these changes are sonicaly noticable, only my opinion.

How many watts class A does the gen 1 have? From what I've read, reports vary up to 10 watts and I would like to have a definite answer as I might upgrade to the gen 2 for more class A power.

Did they change the blue LED meters to have a correlation with the # of watts used?
I know red means clipping and haven't gotten there yet even with my Magnepan 3.6 with 85 dB sensitivity running it at 90db average (not daily listening levels)

I think they always were in correlation to # of watts used. Most of the time you would be using only a couple of watts. But peaks can absorb a lot. It may be different on a maggie.

Yes but how many LEDs equals how many watts? Also is there an LED indication when the amp leaves class A? I would like to know when it does so I can adjust my listening volume to make it stay in class A

I think that's what he said.. 1/2 across is pretty loud in my room.. ive only hit 3/4 a few times on peaks and never red.. from what I hear you cant tell A from AB so don't worry about it.. xpa 1s gen 1s sound fantastic especially with the xsp 1 analog pre amp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah.. that is really sweet sounding

What about the noise floor with sensitive speakers? The S/N ratio specs look pretty different for gen 1 vs gen 2.

Nice Cables! Received my XPA1's gen2 a couple of months ago and can confidently say that there is NO audible differences using A or B mode in conjunction with my 63 year old pair of ears.
