Dedicated Room: TD 125 ll/Grace 707ll/Grace F9E/Soundsmith OCL Ruby/Emotiva XPS-1; Dual CS 5000/Grado Gold: Denon CDP/Berenger Tube Ultra Flex; Emotiva USP1; Mitsubishi DA-A10DC/Dahlquist DQ-10's; Sony TA-n55ES Bridged/Dahlquist 1W
Both of my amps are in the shop pending estimates. If they are too expensive to fix, I was thinking of using one of these in my dedicated audio system. I have 100w for the mains and about 1/2 of 330w for the sub. Neither the XPA-3 or USP-1 have attenuators to adjust the power level to the sub. Neither does the XPA-100 for that matter. Both of my vintage amps have attenuators. So how do you balance the sub with the mains?

Using the USP-1 bass management I'd start off with a CF between the USP-1 and the sub amp. With that you can attenuate the sub woofer volume if it's too loud. Conversely if the FL and FR are too loud then insert the CF between the USP-1 and their power amps.
Cheers Gary

Thanks guys. All is well with my amps. I'll be picking them shortly from the tech.
