I am using the iRule remote software to control my home theatre system. I have managed to control my Sherbourn PT-7030 over RS232 (connected to a Global Cache WF2SL) and I know the Sherbourn also support live feedback but I have no idea how I can get the live feedback. The PDF for PT-7030 with RS232 commands also have some information about live feedback and I have tried many hours in iRule but without luck... Have anyone here actually managed to get live feedback from Sherbourn PT-7030? Either on iRule or other remote control systems?

Are you using a null modem cable by chance? I know other companies recommend using a straight through RS-232 cable.

That sounds like the cable should be good, I think? I don't know anything about Live Feedback, so I'm sorry I'm not more help. I'm curious to know what you find out, though. I'm sure that Tech Support could offer some advice, if you haven't emailed/called them yet. I'm guessing there is some tiny detail that's getting overlooked.

I have not asked tech support yet, I wanted to hear here first. I am using the supplied RJ 45 to 9-pin DIN adapter that came with the PT-7030. The 9-PIN DIN connector is going strait in the iTach unit without any adapters. I may have been a little bit unclear - I control my PT-7030 with iRule and it works perfect! I only miss the live feedback. I want volume, surround mode and input at least.

I don't really think something technical is wrong. But I need to know the command I need to use to display for example volume.
