I am new to the SACD world, however I have ordered a plethora of SACD (most hybrid) and don't have a player that will play the SACD format. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good SACD Player? Not looking to spend tons of cash. Hopeful for something good under $200. As always your input is appreciated.
Thanks, Red

Most people agree that OPPOs are the best for SACD and virtually all other disc playback. Here's an OPPO more in your price range. Check it out. Cheers! Chuck

I have a Samsung Blu Ray player that does play SACD. They have several very good players for about $200.00. Call them at 800- SAMSUNG and ask if there current players will play SACD format. They make remarkable players at reasonable prices. They also offer Smart Hub and DNLA on some of these.

I am not positive but I may have an Oppo DV-981HD sitting unused in a closet somewhere. It doesn't do blu-ray like the new players but if you're looking for SACD it should fit the bill.

I have to agree that an Oppo would be a good choice.

I have an older Denon DVD-2910 and it's an excellent SACD player! If you can find a DVD-29xx series unit out there in good working order they usually go for less than $200

I have the same model, Denon DVD-2910. Excellent for CD, SACD and good up-conversion for standard DVD. I bought mine on eBay and paid less than $100.

The OP did say $200.00. ,,,,or am I missing something! You can find capable Oppos on ebay for less than that. Not an 83, 93, or 103, but some older DVD players that also play SACD are easy to find.

Yeah would have to agree with the older denon, sony or oppo if you can find one for under $200. If you buy an older denon plan to replace the laser, about $50

Pioneer Elite players will do SACD as well, not sure if all do but I have one about 7 or 8 years old that will.

Seems the consensus is Oppo. If I didn't care about the Blu Ray aspect would be oppo dv981hd be a better choice than a stand alone SACD/CD player? Or is the picture quality so much better (than my xbox one BDP) that I should spend the extra to get the BDP 83?
