Hi Andrew,
I assume they really exist. I ordered mine on Saturday. So far credit card not charged and I haven't heard back as to when it might ship. But I am optimistic.

Brian If you ordered the 8100 on Saturday it likely didn't "hit" our systems until this morning. I would expect your card to show a charge very soon. I assure you the 8100 is real.

Sorry guys, this is, well, a very "ho-key" advertisement. Reminds me of Ronco or Ginsu knives. Pure cheeze and slathered with hype. Not at all what I've come to expect out of Emotiva. JMO of course.

I think that's the idea. I doubt they released it with anything other than playful ambitions.

It wasn't the silly advertising that prompted me to place my order for the Fusion 8100. I was waiting for the right time to buy a UMC200 + UPA700 combo. But one of Andrew's earlier posts on the Fusion said this: "If you want a true sense of how the Fusion compares to other products in the Emotiva line in terms of raw power and sonic performance, for two channel listening it's akin to a UMC-200/UPA-200 combo. Or a USP-1/UPA-200 if you'd prefer. For home theater it's more along the lines of either a UMC-200/UPA-500 or UPA-700 with a few little bells and whistles thrown in for good measure. If the UPA series of amps is good enough to get the job done for you and your speakers than the Fusion will fit the bill too. Does it bring the juice the same way an XPA-2 or 5 does? No, but we're not suggesting that either."
I know buying this doesn't qualify me for the "separates club" and certainly not the "monoblocks club" but I expect it will satisfy my needs for a while.

Hope the flim-flam used car sales approach works for ya in terms of sales. Just don't expect it to help keep up the classy Emotiva reputation.

"2 scoops of awesome"... very nice! I was waiting for the obligatory double offer at the end: " Call today and we'll give you ANOTHER Fusion 8100... ABSOLUTELY FREE! That's 2 receivers for just $699! Just pay $699 separate S&H."

We were just having a spot of fun. Not everything we do can be super serious or overly corporate. We have a lot of fun here in the shop and every once in a while you got let loose. Don't fret, we haven't lost our minds... yet.

Understood. Although I think "the fun" might have come through if this were for a new XPR amp. Then it would have been obvious. As it is, this receiver is what I would consider to be at the lower end of the Emotiva product line, the true entry level Emotiva. So when you put out a commercial that mimics the sleezy TV adds for your lower end product, some people are going to take you seriously. We might "get it" since we are all familiar with Emotiva. But do you really want potential new customers that are also looking at top name high end brands seeing this? Your decision, not mine.

With only $100 difference between the UMC-200 and the Fusion, I would think that the Fusion is going to cannibalize the umc-200 sales. What does the umc-200 offer that Fusion doesn't?
Sincerely /b
