Since I have lots of unbalanced 2-connector, twisted-pair bare wire already in my parts bin, and since I also need some odd-length interconnects (about 11.5 & 18 feet), I'd like to try it as a DIY project. To do a good job, I need to select some high-quality RCA plugs. Which brands might you recommend?
Are there any capacitance issues I need to be cognizant of using interconnects that long? I'm thinking that resistance issues for interconnects (unlike those for speaker wires) are irrelavant since both the source and destination impedance are in the K-ohm range. Is this correct?
Thanks - Boomzilla

That's rather long for interconnects. Presumably the option to keep them short(er) is ruled out? I'm glad your wire is twisted-pair, I'd be concerned about interference otherwise. Cardas plugs and Neutrik products are good quality.

OK, Thanks, hemster - I've used Neutrik SpeakON products before (they're great!), but never have tried their RCAs. The price seems reasonable, and lots of places carry them.

totally agree with Hemster. My DIY interconnects use a Cardas plug.

How about the WBT connects? Pricey, but have seen and heard really good things about them...Don't have any, but would like to hear other opinions. www.parts-express.com/brand/wbt/271

@ $102 each, the WBT RCAs won't do for this job, but thanks anyway!
In fact, after looking at Monoprice, I can barely buy plugs for what they sell finished cables for...
