So not only does it appear physically similar, but several people have alluded to the fact that the NuForce AVP-18 is a rebrand of the UMC-200. Is there any truth to this? If so, what exactly is going on that would allow this to happen?

Emotiva is "owned" by Jade Design. Jade Design does design work for several companies; sometimes "whole-hog" sometimes just a board or two. Now, whether the NuForce is the original and the Fusion the re-brand or the other way around is likely only known by the inner circle at Jade Design. I know they've been tight lipped on the specifics of what they provide other OEMs (likely because of terms and conditions of their contract with the OEM).

It's may also be worth noting that Dan Laufman owns Jade Design.

I didn't stop to think that the OP might not have known that.

It's may also be worth noting that Dan Laufman owns Jade Design. Makes perfect sense now, for some reason I was under the impression that Emo/Sherbourn was it for Dan. Guess they have a larger company than I thought.
