Any ideas on why when I power down m XPA-2 I get a nice little click/pop through both of my speakers. I have other amps that I have hooked up to the same outlet, same speakers, same cables and do not get a pop/click when powering down other amps.
This is my second XPA-2 and the first one exhibited the same issue - so it leads me to believe there is something amiss with my setup - but like I said no issues with my other amps and same setup.
Even with no inputs to the XPA-2 and moved to another outlet/another room I get the same results.
I hooked up my Fluke multimeter to the XPA-2 speaker outputs and set my multimeter to "mem" function - so it would record the low and high voltages from the speaker outlets. Not the best instrument for detecting quick spikes, but there was definitely a spike when shutting down the amp.
Any suggestions, before I throw in the towel?
Thanks.

I assumed you have already contacted tech support? Any other details? Speaker type, model? maybe you have one that is very sensitive to this kind of Dc discharge. (not all are obviously or we would have everyone complaining about this.)
This isn't harming anything but I can agree it can be annoying. have you tried other (different) speakers? Different amps (brand)?
Are these amps new or is this something you just noticed? If so, are these the original speakers?

I contacted Tech support with the previous amp, and they said to send it back. Got a new one - same issue. I know that the issues screams cables, the outlet, etc. but the catch is that I use the same setup - just swap out the amp and dead silence when powering off with any other amp.
My setup is
Pioneer HPM-100 Speakers Mac-Mini (Either USB or TosLink out) NAD 375 with built in DAC Sansui AU-717 (using HRT Music Streamer DAC) XPA-2 paired with the XDA-2 Pioneer SA-9100 (using HRT Music Streamer DAC) Same usb and optical cable used with the above gear Same power strip, power cables, outlets used with the above gear.
I do have a smaller pair of HPM-60's out in the garage - might hook those up and see what happens, but I expect the same issue.
So all gear remains the same - just swaping out the amp and or dac.
Even with nothing connected to the inputs of the XPA-2 I still get the speaker pop on power down.
I've been working audio gear for more years than I like to say, and it is frustrating to have a new piece of gear exhibit this issue, especially when none of the other amps exhibit this problem.
Just not having any joy with the Emotiva gear............

What is odd is when I had my Stealths and Xref subs, they would pop when I turned the 7030 on or off. I thought something was wrong with the 7030 not having the mute on when powering on, but now that I am using an XPA-5 and a different sub, there is no longer any pop either when turning on or off. Go figure...
