I was listening to my B&W804S speakers yesterday playing some excellent R&R by some very impressive young artists that were bought to my attention by forum member "Chuck" . The music was played by a group of pint sized youths still in school maybe grade school, high achievers in the musical realm of star quality entertainment. If you watch "You Tube" and have the ability to watch and listen thru your sound system and TV/Projector screen you are in for a treat. Just enter the name Aaron O'Keefe in the search and enjoy.
I can definitely say NOW after a few months of ownership with my Emotiva Gen 2 XPA1s' that I made the right decision in getting the most out of my 804's.
No they did not magically transform themselves into B&W diamonds but most definitely they have broken the sound barrier with the clear crisp highs that I was looking for before I made my purchase at Emotiva. That extra headroom does a lot. From personal experience I have had quite a number of sales people tell me that the only thing I could do to improve the high end sound of my B&W's' was to step up to the 804 diamond series or beyond. True the diamond series B&W is an awesome speaker and yes if I could afford them I would step it up a bit, but my reason for writing this post is to say that I am wholly impressed with the performance of my XPA1 Gen 2.
PS In the music sessions that I mentioned their is a young girl (age 11) who has a great voice and her performance, mannerisms could I believe lead to star quality.
