Hello guys, I was trying to slide my XPA 3 into an ET center with the interconnects in the input jacks and I hit something in the back and broke two of the input RCA jacks, they are just hanging there with only one pin attached. I've read that these can be fixed. Could anyone tell me what I need to do. The amp has been powered down for a few days now so I'm not afraid to get in there. I have some pretty good soldering skills and would not hesitate to replace them. I've read that some others have used a higher grade of RCA jacks with screw on nuts to hold them in place. In the mean time can I just use a XLR to male RCA cable for the inputs from my pre-pro to the XPA until I can get this RCA jack problem taken care of. I would appreciate any advice you can give me as to the best way to get to the jacks beyond removing the case top which I have done. Can the board be removed that the RCA jacks are mounted to? I will call technical support tomorrow to see what they say and if I would void warranty by doing anything. I don't want to have to send this beast back just for RCA jack replacement. Thanks for listening. Cheers Jeff

hi, I broke the rca input off my xpa-2 when trying to disconnect some VERY tight cables. not wanting to pay freight for repair I bought some xlr to rca convertors and have been using the amp this way for 2 years. no problems.

I have connected both my XPA-5 and XPA-200 with RCA male to XLR cables. I got the cables from monoprice so they were not very expensive and work great. I did this because I was trying to avoid the problem you have. One of the RCA cables I was using looked like it was putting a strain of the input jack.
If you do use XLR cables be sure to change the input to balanced for each channel.

I know I've seen some threads where the RCA inputs were upgraded to Tiffany style RCA inputs, like what is now currently being used on the Generation 2 amps. I just don't remember what members, so hopefully they will chime in if they see this thread.
