Hi Brand! Welcome! Sorry, just getting back to the party here. I was in the bathroom for an extended period of time. I think I spied you earlier from across the room during one of the legendary bar room brawls in the Lounge. Man, I almost got my drink knocked over during that one. But yeah, you're the one with the sedge hat and full beard. Sorry about what happened with the pool cue ball. It wasn't his fault. Also, that girl with the red bodice that was hitting on you an hour ago is NOT 19 years old. Just a friendly heads-up. I think the party will run for another 5 hours here, or until the chips & dip run out. From what I've seen already, you fit in just fine here. Oh, I'm not from Switzerland, but I do know where it is on an atlas. Right next to Sweden, right?   |

Oh btw on a more serious note: I have lived in the States (in various states) and I've always wondered why Sweden is so well known and Switzerland is not hehe. But it's still better than: "Oh what country are you from? Europe?" which I also heard a bunch of times. Them: "What country are you from? Europe?" You: "Yeah, something like that." Them: "Uh, where's Europe again? Like in Canada or something?" You:  It's funny how clueless some US citizens are about other countries and world geography in general. Start talking about places like Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Eritrea, and Uruguay, suddenly the eyes glaze over. Sweden's popularity in the US may have something to do with IKEA, Stockholm syndrome, and Vikings. But Switzerland brings to mind stuff like hot cocoa, the Alps, Swiss bank accounts, and political neutrality. One day I'd like to visit both countries for a couple of weeks. The closest I've been to Switzerland was a 4-hour layover in Amsterdam, Netherlands...which I think is somewhere in Texas. |

The closest I have been to Switzerland was in the Black Forest in Germany. We had a great view to Switzerland from my friend's vacation home.

Welcome to the forum. I like your choice in speakers (check my signature). I am surprised more US citizens don't know much about Europe. Asia is even more mysterious to them. You can always go visit the Large Hadron Collider, or that in Switzerland?
