I can't find the specs on the older Silver S10 speakers that I own. I know that they're 6ohm and 91db/W/m, but that's all I can remember or find. The newer Monitor Audio Silver 8 speakers are 4ohm and have a minimum power recommendation of 80W. Thoughts on whether the Fusion 8100 is enough to power my three front Monitor Audio speakers (I have the matching center channel), plus the remaining four surround speakers with no problems?
I'm thinking about using the July sale (20% if I become a member) to replace my Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver *and* my Emotiva XPA-3 Gen 1 amp that is currently powering the front three speakers (I would trade in the Emotiva amp). I'm thinking I jumped on the separate amps bandwagon too soon. That, or I should have purchased the XPA-5 amp. I'm tossing around all sorts of ideas right now, including upgrading (trading in) to the XPA-5 or even the UPA-500 or UPA-700 (and not doing the Fusion 8100). Yeah, I'm all over the place right now.

If it were up to me, I would keep the XPA-3 but still get the Fusion. If thst is financially viable for you, of course. You could have rhe XPA run the fronts then have the fudion power the surrounds. Then again, at 91db the Fusion should be plenty as long as you dont listen at ear bleeding levels.
