I'm trying to organize my albums on the shelf. I've got rock, blues, classical, country and jazz sections, and sub-sections. But what about singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Mel Torme, Bing Crosby, Barbra Streisand? They're not really jazz or pop. What do I label them, Crooners?
Sincerely /b

Record stores used to classify them as either Easy Listening or Vocal. Some may have also been cross-categorized in the Jazz or Big Band sections, depending on their era/style.
